Zilin Gong

Zilin Gong is an artist, researcher, and curator who lives and works in London, Shanghai and Taipei.

Her art encourages viewers to revisit and reconsider topics such as postcolonialism and East Asian geopolitics, providing a new perspective on frequently neglected aspects of culture and society.

Before the year 2022, Gong's artwork was primarily text-based, supported by images and videos. Her video works adapted material from literature, historical records, and social media, resulting in new narratives that explore the relationships between images, videos, culture, and politics. Since 2022, Gong's focus has shifted to light and shadow installations, primarily focusing on postcolonial issues.
